Apple has recently come to an agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers’ Coalition of Organized Retail Employees, marking a significant milestone as the first unionized company store in the United States. The collective bargaining contract, which covers employees at a retail location in Maryland, promises to increase wages by an average of 10% and introduce additional benefits for workers. The agreement, which spans three years, requires the approval of approximately 85 employees at the store in Towson, Maryland.

The upcoming vote on August 6 will determine the final approval of the newly proposed contract.

A separate location in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma also recently unionized under the Communications Workers of America, indicating a broader trend toward labor organization within the tech giant’s retail network. While the Oklahoma City site has yet to finalize a contract with Apple, these developments signal a growing interest in union representation among workers in the industry.
